Group Training and Tips


Come and meet other athletes at the Haverford Area YMCA because everything is better when you train with friends. I coach triathlon classes at the Y on the following days:

Mondays: 8:00-9:00am Swimming!

Tuesdays: 7:00-7:30pm in the spin room for a bike session. We’ll work on speed and hills as well as zone 2 endurance sessions.

Thursdays: 5:00am-6:00am swim AND 6:50-7:30pm swim. I will have about 3000 yards planned, but you do what you can. If you are new to swimming and can barely swim the length of the pool, or are working on your endurance, the workout can be modified. We’ll also work on flip turns and other skills in the off season.

Saturdays = Triathlon Day! (but not in the swim, bike, run order due to scheduling). Bike Class in the Spin Room 6:15-7:00am Swim from 7:15-8:15am and Run on the Track or Treadmill 8:20-9:00am am (Kid Zone opens at 7:45am)

There is no need to sign up; just come to the classes that interest you. If you’re a Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA member, all classes are FREE. And, you get a discount on training plans if you want me to coach you one-on-one. Check out the triathlon plan options.
